I lost track of time, like I knew I would!!

I so wanted to keep monthly posts going on here, but alas, I lost track of time.  Here it is, August, and I haven't updated since May!  There was a lot going on around here!! Our major focus of course has been getting our little man ready for his first day of Kindergarten!! YIKES!! I seriously cannot believe this!!  I'm trying to keep my composure in front of him, but in all honestly, I'm sad. Don't get me wrong, i'm really excited for him to go and meet new friends, and learn lots of new things, but i'm nervous for him!!  I've never left him before so this is HUGE for us!
The beginning of June we had Lindsey's graduation party which was a big hit!! I love party planning.  I think that would in fact be my dream job! My mom had a hysterectomy which led to 7 weeks off!! The babes loved all the extra time they got to spend with their Gammaw! We made some projects for Father's Day, and took Daddy out to dinner!  I turned 27, so now i'm officially in my "late" twenties.  Good grief!! We had a couple of fun parties to attend, and did lots of swimming!!  July seems like somewhat of a blur!!  We had a couple play-dates, visited the Museum Center, and just tried to keep cool!!  Jamison had kindergarten Jump-Start at the end of the month where he go to go in and spend a couple of hours with his new teacher and class-mates!!  That definitely too away some of the anxiety he was feeling about starting school!

Me and my boy at the Gosney's annual pig roast for 4th of July!
Baby's first 4th!

Her favorite thing at the museum was this giant mirror!! That silly baby in there was fascinating!

Typical silly Jamison!

Lindsey helping the boys figure out the see-saw at Ayden's 4th Birthday!

Playing TMNT with Gamma!

Pool Time!

Make Shift sun shade for the baby!
She is such a water baby! She'd stay in the pool all day if we'd let her!

Play date with Cece and Cooper at Totter's Otterville

Proud as a peacock he make it to the top all by himself!

Pretty sure this was the hottest day of the summer!!
Pure redneck! Cooler turned pool for baby!

And this....it melts my heart.

Scarlett is starting to walk if we're holding her hands, but still has no interest in learning on her own.  She is so spoiled, she knows if she whines a little someone will come running to her!!!  Her aunt Shizzy is probably the worst!! Her newest tricks are clapping, giving kisses, and high fives!  She can tell you how big she is by throwing her arms up in the air! It's the cutest thing ever!
Slobbery kisses for MommY!
Sweet Sissy-girl

Jamison got his first fat lip...poor baby.  We were going out for froyo and he was running back to the van, tripped and fell face first into the concrete!!  It was bad,  he was pretty sure it was the end of the world.   We've been practicing things he will need to know for school.  One night he was struggling and told me, "Mom, if you didn't sign me up for kindergarten I wouldn't be in this mess!!" He's so witty!
Self portrait, looks like a future artist to me!
Target shooting with Papaw Steve!
Busted lip...poor baby was miserable.
He'll probably kill me for this when he's older, but this wedgie was too great not to snap a pic!
It's the simple things, like homemade Popsicles that keep this innocent boy smiling!
We haven't been on a family vacation since Jamison was 9 months old and we visited Washington DC.  We just put a deposit down on a beach house in Daytona Beach, Fl for next July!! We're so excited to be able to get away to the beach for a while!! Next summer can't get here soon enough!  I've been spending most of my free time getting things together for the kids' big Birthday bash!! I'm so excited, and really hope things turn out great!!

Mommy Questions...

I found these questions and thought I might be fun to answer and look back to see how my answers change as the babes get bigger!!

1. How many children do you have and how old are they?
          Two, Jamison(4.5), Scarlett(10 months)
2. What is your proudest moment as a mom of your child/children?

I'm always proud when they learn something new, I love watching them play                       together and be best buddies.  I hope they always have a great relationship.
3. What is your most frustrating moment as a mom?

Working full time is a huge struggle.  I've always wanted to be a SAHM, financially it's nowhere near possible.  I feel like i'm missing out.  I should be here with them.
4. How do you discipline your child/children?

"No No" is working for Scarlett still, as she instantly sticks out her lip and gives the most pitiful pouty face!! Jamison is more challenging!!  I yell, I don't want to yell, and I know I shouldn't yell.  I'm trying to work on it.  He does get time out quite a bit.
5. Cursing, do you do it in front of your child/children?

Not gonna lie. I do.  Nothing he hasn't heard.  I know a lot of moms disagree.  That's cool.
6. Do you think your relationship has changed since you had your child/children? For better or worse?

Our relationship has changed a ton.  Having kids makes things so much harder.  It's not just you two, you rarely have time for yourself, let alone for each other.  We're good though.  I love him more now that I see how much he loves them!
7. Since becoming mom do you find yourself acting more like your own mom?

Yes and no.  Certain things I do, but others not so much.
9. Your favorite place to take your child/children?

Zoo, we have so much fun, and it never gets old!
10. Your least favorite place to take your child/children?

Wal-mart.  I hate it there.  So I REALLY REALLY hate it there with two small children in tow!
11. Piercing babies' ears, do or don't?

I think baby girls are so precious with their ear's pierced, I had every intention on getting Scarlett's done.  I actually took her to do it and chickened out.  I can't hurt her on purpose.  So for us, no.  When she's old enough to make the decision, i'm all for it!
12. Favorite skin care for you and your children?

We use Johnson's.  Works great for us despite all the negative media recently....:/
13. Must have mommy make up item?

Mascara...on a day to day basis, it's what I have time for.
14. Bath or shower for you and your children?

Shower for me, bubble baths for the kids!! They love it!  Showers if we're in a hurry...they hate that!!!
15. Are you back to your pre baby weight?

        Actually, 45lbs down!!
16. College dreams- do you expect them to go or are you going to let them decide for themselves?

Obviously I want the best for them, but the best means them being happy at whatever they choose.  I'll never pressure them to do anything.  I HATE how this question is worded.."or are you going to let them decide for themselves" SERIOUSLY?? They're their own person.  I can't stand parents who make choices for their young adult children who are capable of making their own decisions.
17. What is one show your child/children loves but you secretly hate?

     Jamison-Caillu  Scarlett-Dora the Explorer
18. Cloth diapers yay or nay?

I love the idea, just not feeseable working 40hrs a week.
19. Finish this sentence- You know you're a mom when you.....
NEVER stop thinking about your babies!! They're always put first!
Oh, aaaaannnnd these too!! Because it's really like this....

May: It's a Tradition!

There's a lot of things I hate about this house, but it does have it's advantages!  Location being #1! We've got anything we'd ever need minutes away, 15 minutes to Florence or Cincinnati, not to mention 2 really awesome parks with in walking distance!

Jamison loves to do anything outside, so a nature hike is just perfect!
Scarlett's first time in the swing was a big success!! Smiles the entire time!

We also have these two really awesome trees! I just wish they bloomed longer!
Starting to realize if it wasn't for my iphone I wouldn't really have any  pictures!

This was a big month for Shiz, she turned 18 and being the great Big Sis that I am, I took her to Bobby Mackey's! (She really wanted to go to Pulse, but let's be honest, that just really isn't my scene!)  She also graduated, but that'll get a post of it's own!!
I managed to get a picture with the Robertson's!!  Speaking of, whenever we watch Duck Dynasty Jimmy always tells me they remind him of my family!! I like to take that as a compliment!

Mother's Day was very low-key! Quite frankly, it was perfect!  Just the four of us spend the whole day together: we walked around the Flea market where Jamison got to spend his tooth fairy money on a really awesome noisy light up sword, cuddled up on the couch for a movie.  I may or may not have taken a snooze!

Jimmy made reservations at Outback for dinner!  However, reservations on Mother's Day still constitute a 45 minute wait!!  The service sucked, but this happened....

So, Jimmy and I enjoyed a rather peaceful dinner while sis chowed on rye bread and some of Jamison's mac&cheese!
We had a full week off together, May 21-June 1!  Absolute Heaven.  The majority of our free time was spent on Lindsey's graduation party and re-modeling Mamaw's kitchen.  We did manage to hit up "our beach" for the first time of the summer!!  I really want to have Family traditions my kids can look back on!  I don't really recall any, not that I feel like my childhood wasn't great, it's just important to us!  Going to East Fork Lake, spending the day swimming, playing in the sand and packing a picnic lunch on the beach is something we absolutely love. We try to do this as many times as we possibly can all summer.  On special trips we pick up dinner at the Great Scott Diner and head to the Drive in too!!

Watching them play together is one of my favorite things!

Momma needs some sun on that ghostly white bod.

e doesn't pose for pictures a lot, but when he does, they're classic!!

The baby pool on the beach is genius! I give myself major props for coming up with that one!

 Baby's first Drive-In Movie!
Deelicious!!

Big news for Jamison this month,  he didn't loose one tooth, he lost TWO!!!  Seriously, that's straight up big boy stuff!  We're working on the sleeping in his own bed every night thing!!  We have slip ups, but i'm not worried, and the one's who are don't really matter! ;-)  Iron Man 3 came out and him and Jimmy went to see it, in costume!

Scarlett has mastered the backwards scoot, and still shows no interest in real crawling!!  She's probably the only baby I know who loves meat, hot dogs, ground beef, lunch meat,  haven't really found one she doesn't like.  She loves to mimic facial expressions and sounds now, it's absolutely presh, she's discovered she can do the cutest clicking sound with her tongue   Of all the shows kid shows that drive me nuts, Dora tops the list.  She loves it.  Like goes ballistic when the theme song comes on.  I took a video of it, I need to upload it.  Seriously, screaming  clapping, bouncing, cheering!  She's head over heels in love with Dora! Great.

I almost forgot!!  I pinned this a while back because I thought it was funny.
. My Dad came to pick Jamison up to take him for an overnight Camp-out in his Truck.  The truck is an '89, so naturally it doesn't have power windows.  Jamison wanted the window down but couldn't find the button. I rolled it down, he squealed with delight and proceeded to tell me how cool that was!
Kids are funny.

What happened in April

Now that May is nearly over, I suppose it's time to get April's recap up!  I knew when I started this that keeping some type of a schedule would be difficult!  Typically I would say, not a lot going on here, but I challenged myself to keep track of things we did this month and quite frankly,  there's more to report than I would have thought!!  First things first, I saw this during one of my nightly trips through the amazing world that is PINTEREST!  It really stood out, sometimes I need a reminder to be grateful for all the blessings in my life, and quit comparing my life to others.

Because really....what more could I want. This here....this is perfection!!

My little busy body decided my living room curtains needed revamped!  He said they were too boooring.!! He just looks mischievous doesn't he!

He's right, they're a little less boring now!

My family tends to refer to me as Car-seat Obsessive, I've even heard "Car-seat Nazi".  It's whatev though, I just can't imagine being involved in a crash and something happening to either of my babes because I was too careless to have them restrained properly.  That my friends, is a guilt I couldn't live with!  Jamison hit 50lbs, and we finally agreed to start riding in a booster!  If and only if he could prove to me that he could sit like a big boy the entire time....he was thrilled, and so is everyone else!!  Although, my child buys into every damn "As seen on TV" gimmick he sees via the Spout Network!!  Moving to a booster only meant one thing to him,  I CAN GET A SEAT PET!!  I checked into it, they're outrageously priced,  I wasn't doing it.  I figured I could whip up something just as good!  I did! I don't have any pictures though...in due time!
First ride!

Jamison is started to get really anxious about starting Kindergarten in the Fall.  We all recently went and took a tour of the school.  I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty huge for an elementary school, and quite intimidating for such a little guy i'm sure.  He is obsessed with flying, every wish he ever makes, whether he's blowing out his birthday candles, or throwing a penny into a wishing well is that he could fly.  He wants to fly soo bad.  He got  some kind of dragon in his Happy Meal with wings that moved when you pushed down on a button, the boy tried to jump off the side of the couch with the dragon trying to fly!! He tries to jump off of things wearing his buzz lightyear wing back and get's mad when he smacks the ground!  I'm thinking I have a future pilot on my hands!
There's nothin' better than digging for worms!
Even Aunt Shizzy got in on the bubble wrap fun this time!
This is why we dig for worms all.the.time!

Every year for Christmas we opt out of a bunch of presents and ask for Membership passes to the Cincinnati Zoo!  Seriously, I think it's the best gift ever!! It never gets old!  This was Sissy girl's first trip!

Jamison and a Jameson snake...How cool is that!!

What's cooler than spider man crocs? Yeah, I couldn't think of anything either!!
First time on a carousel!
Look how strong I am!!
Passed out in the nocturnal house, how ironic!
Big enough for a back carry! YAHOO!!
Love them boys!
Just love them jeans!!
4D movies are the coolest!

GAHHH, I feel like i'm trying to cram so much in here!!!  Next time maybe I won't screw around!  Scarlett is such a swweet girl, this month it was like a switch went off and suddenly taking a bath was fun!  She has the most fabulous cheeks and the chunkiest legs that just scream SQUEEZE ME!!  Only downside, she's spoiled rotten and quite possibly the world's clingiest baby!!  Her newest favorite thing to do is blow bubbles!!  She's decided she's over baby food and would much rather have whatever your eating!
She's a pro at feeding herself!  Here she's chowing down on sweet potatoes and peaches!
She's turning into such a big girl, it's times like this when she falls asleep on my chest that I really want to stop time.  I'm going to miss having a little bambino!
I hope they always love each other this much!
Daddy took this picture.  I'm in love.
I always wanted a little girl in a watermelon dress.

What else, what else....we sold the BMW and got a Camaro, I'm pretty stoked that we have something I can drive other than the Van! Jamison got a big boy bed, that Jim and I whipped up ourselves!!

Still needs painted, but i'm pretty proud of our handy-work!
He's reading to her....can't look at this with out a big smile!
Sis is finally getting some hair!! We have options now, headband or no headband!!

I'll end with this. It's pretty special!
